Prior to joining forces with Jeff Yarbrough at Jeff Yarbrough Group, Billy built a successful real estate career that spanned 15 years in Miami Beach. He was one of the city’s most visible and successful agents. He continues to represent select clients in Florida. Billy has been featured on multiple programs on HGTV and Bravo that featured high-end real estate transactions. Billy played major league baseball from 1987 to 1995. He broke into the big leagues with the Detroit Tigers, and tied a major league record with 4 hits in his first big league game. He went on to play for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres. He is the author of the book, “Going the Other Way: Lessons from a Life In and Out of Major League Baseball.” Billy was born in Santa Ana and was a multi-sport star at Santa Ana High School, where he was chosen “athlete of the year” and Valedictorian of his graduating class. He was an “All-America” outfielder twice before graduating from Loyola Marymount University in 1986 with a degree in Business Administration. He is devoted to fitness, competitive sports, and inspiring all athletes of diversity.
Billy was appointed by Commissioner Bud Selig as Major League Baseball’s Ambassador of Inclusion in 2015. This significant appointment puts Billy as the league’s first person to deal with issues like bullying, homophobia, and racism. Billy lives in New York, but continues to run real estate transactions through Jeff Yarbrough Group.
